OTTAWA—Existing-home sales in Canada declined in September from the previous month, and prices fell to their lowest level in over four years.
The figures from the Canadian Real Estate Association point to a real-estate market that is adjusting to tepid economic conditions and a weak labor market, triggered by a major shift in U.S. trade policy under President Trump. Gauges of housing affordability remain at historically stretched levels.
