Bernie Ecclestone: F1 Career & Controversies

by Archynetys Sports Desk

(Christmas 2025 / Bernie Ecclestone message for Christmas) The publisher of Formulaaustria.at is among those who received a Christmas card from Bernie Ecclestone himself. And anyone who knows Bernie knows that this is never (ever!) just another Christmas card. Of course not this year either. Ecclestone has never cared about other people’s opinions, and especially not at his ripe old age of 95: Read the Christmas message here

We have to thank the editor of Formulaaustria.at – he made Bernie Ecclestone’s Christmas message available to a wide audience on his website. If you have looked into Ecclestone’s history, or are just a Formula 1 fan, then you know that this little man is a really big one.

At the age of 28, he only took part in a Formula 1 Grand Prix twice – namely in Monaco and Great Britain. However, it quickly became clear to Ecclestone that his place in this profession was more in the background than on the starting grid.

At the age of 57, Bernie Ecclestone founded the Formula One Group, where he served as CEO until 2017. His influence played a huge part in Formula 1 development. He sold his shares to Liberty Media Group in 2017, but continued to work as a consultant until 2020.

Mr. Ecclestone privately: 4 children with 3 wives

With three wives, Ecclestone has four children, including Tamara Ecclestone, who has made a name for herself – and not just in the modeling business. The influence of her mother (Slavica Ravic) is particularly evident in her. Tamara is also active in the British TV business.
At the age of 89 he became a father again, Bernie Ecclestone’s youngest child is 5 years old, and the jack-of-all-trades is still pretty young – as you can clearly see in this year’s message for Christmas.

Here is the Christmas message that Bernie Ecclestone sent to the Formulaaustria.at editor who worked with him for several years:

Ecclestone’s Christmas message 2025 (translated into German):

“This year marks 75 years since the start of Formula 1.
I have experienced many changes in the world and some in Formula 1 too –
from Christian (Horner) farewell to Max (Verstappen), the best Formula 1 driver, catching up,
that I can remember.
Thanks to Zak (Brown), McLaren has returned to its former strength.
Toto is waking up and Lewis is suffering a little from an uncompetitive car.

Donald Trump rules the world without competition,
except for a few gentlemen who are missing an important part of their bodies.
Well done, Donald.
2026 will not be a quiet year for Formula 1, and the world is also looking for peace.
So treat yourself to a few quiet days at the end of 2025.
At 95 years old and with a five-year-old son, I find it difficult
to follow this advice yourself. Do your best in everything you do.”
Bernie
