Two people were injured in shots fired in Berlin-Kreuzberg. According to initial findings, there was an exchange of gunfire between several people on Adalbertstrasse shortly after 4 p.m., the police said.
A short time later, emergency services found a man with a gunshot wound on nearby Naunynstrasse. He was given first aid on site and then taken to a hospital. Another person suspected of being involved went to a clinic on his own with gunshot wounds to his leg and upper body. He will also be treated there.
In connection with the crime, officials in Berlin-Neukölln said they found a car with two occupants who were carrying firearms. According to the police, the exact sequence and background of the crime are still unclear and are the subject of ongoing investigations. The crime scene was cordoned off by officers until the evening, “public transport is also affected,” said the Berlin police.
Shots were fired in Kreuzberg the evening before. Three siblings aged 20, 25 and 26 were standing in front of an apartment building on Alexandrinenstrasse around 9:30 p.m. when several shots were fired from an unknown direction, the police said. Nobody was injured. The police have not yet established a connection between the incidents.
