The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) arrested a man who would have administered bites to several people during a festival in Beauce this weekend.
The facts which are accused of a twenty-year-old from Saint-Joseph would have taken place during the workers’ festival, in his hometown, Friday and Saturday.
“The suspect would have potentially committed assaults, in particular by biting a few people without their knowledge. The investigation tends to demonstrate that he could have made other victims, “said SQ spokesperson Audrey-Anne Bilodeau.
The twenty -year -old was released under a promise to appear following his interrogation. The file will be submitted to the director of criminal and criminal proceedings.
Maybe not a syringe
Audrey-Anne Bilodeau specifies, however, that the object used to attack other festival-goers could be something other than a syringe in this case.
“We have a witness who saw one of the assaults and says that the object used was much smaller.”
She still invites people who “think they have been given a deleterious substance, no matter how, to go to a hospital center as quickly as possible in order to take samples to determine, if this is, what substance it is.”
Other potential victims
The provincial police force continues to investigate this disturbing history and seeks other potential victims.
Anyone who would have information concerning the actions of this individual or on similar gestures can transmit information confidentially to the Criminal Information Center in Quebec Criminal Information at 1 800 659-4264.
