Traffic Accident on BAB 20 at Greifswald Junction leaves Four Injured

On June 22nd, 2025, at 5:40 p.m., a traffic accident resulting in personal injury occurred on the BAB 20 at the Greifswald junction. According to the Police headquarters in Neubrandenburg,the incident involved a small bus and a motorhome.
A 41-year-old German driver of a mercedes small bus was traveling on the BAB 20 from Stettin towards Lübeck with his wife and two daughters, ages 6 and 11. At the Greifswald junction, a 40-year-old driver in a Fiat motorhome was attempting to merge onto the BAB 20. While merging from the acceleration strip to the right lane, the 40-year-old changed lanes to the left to facilitate the maneuver.Concurrently, the 41-year-old driver of the Mercedes attempted to return to the right lane and failed to notice the motorhome beside him, resulting in a side collision.
The collision caused the side windows of the Mercedes to shatter, leading to minor injuries for the two girls and the wife. All injured individuals were transported to the Greifswald Clinic by ambulance. Both vehicles were rendered undrivable and required towing. the estimated property damage amounts to around 20,000.
During the accident examination and vehicle recovery, traffic was restricted to a single lane past the scene. The Police headquarters in Neubrandenburg noted that despite the hazardous conditions, some drivers passed the accident site at excessive speeds, disregarding the presence of police officers, paramedics, and recovery personnel.
