Match abandoned: Australia retain the Chappell-Hadlee Trophy

After a quick visit to this sodden Bay Oval pitch, umpires have elected to abandon the second T20I. In the end we got 11 balls of cricket – a dismal statistic. However, this non-event match ensures Australia secure the series. We will return (hopefully) for the third match of this series tomorrow where New Zealand will strive to square the series.

Ultimately, Australia hold the Chappell-Hadlee Trophy for another year.

Thanks for your company (and patience) tonight, folks. Tune in tomorrow at 4.15pm AEST or 7.15pm NZ time. Hopefully we’ll get clear skies and terrific cricket.
