Syrian President vows Justice After Church Attack

President Ahmed Al-Sharaa promises to bring perpetrators to justice, urges national unity.


Following a suicide attack inside the St. elias Church in Damascus, Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa has pledged that those involved will receive their “fair penalty”. He also called on the Syrian people to demonstrate “solidarity and unity” in the face of threats to the country’s stability.

President Al-Sharaa stated, “We pledge to the beacons that we will reach the day during the day, converging all of our competent security services, to arrest everyone who participated and plans for this heinous crime, and to bring them to the judiciary to obtain their fair penalty.”

He added that “the heinous crime … reminiscent of the importance of solidarity and unity, the government and people, in the face of everything that threatens our security and the stability of our homeland.”

“We pledge to the beacons that we will reach the day during the day…to arrest everyone who participated and plans for this heinous crime.”
