Of the 80 deputies elected by PSD and CDS-PP, 16 will be part of the XXIV Constitutional Government, adding to the seven who had already taken office as ministers and the nine nominated on Thursday as secretaries of State.

With functions until now in Belém, the executive led by Luís Montenegro will be part of the economic consultant of Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, Hélder Reis, who will be Secretary of State for Regional Development, and Nuno Sampaio, political consultant, who will be Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.

Inês Domingos, also a consultant to the current President until assuming office as a deputy, will be Secretary of State for European Affairs.

Among the ministers who took office on Tuesday, there were already six deputies from the PSD bench who left for the Government: the head of the list for Lisbon and prime minister-designate, Luís Montenegro, the second and third candidates for the capital, Joaquim Miranda Sarmento and Ana Paula Martins, and the top list for Viseu, António Leitão Amaro, for Faro, Miguel Pinto Luz, and for Coimbra, Rita Júdice.

From the CDS-PP bench, President Nuno Melo, now Minister of National Defense, had already passed to the Government.

According to the list of 41 secretaries of State proposed by the Prime Minister, and already accepted by the President of the Republic, there are eight more deputies from the PSD and one from the CDS-PP to join the government list.

In other words, in total, 20% of the 80 deputies from the two benches will have to be replaced as they assume government functions.

In addition to Inês Domingos, the head of the list of the Democratic Alliance (pre-electoral coalition PSD, CDS-PP and PPM) for the circle outside Europe, José Cesário, returns to the Est secretariat.
