When Jim Carrey showed up at the César Awards to receive an honorary award, it didn’t take long for the internet to start boiling.
UPDATED March 3: After the internet exploded with theories that it wasn’t Jim Carrey who showed up at the César Awards in Paris, both the actor’s representative and the organizers behind the awards are now responding.
Jim’s spokesperson states that it was actually him who was present and received the honorary award. The César boss also rejects the speculation. He says the visit was planned long in advance – and that Jim even practiced his French-speaking acceptance speech for several months.
Official sources now reject the whole theory about Alexis Stone.

Several thought that the actor “looked different” – and the comment fields were quickly filled with speculation that something was wrong.
Some pointed to facial features, while others pointed to facial expressions and eyes.
Drag artist Alexis Stone posted photos on Instagram claiming it was actually him wearing a hyper-realistic Jim Carrey mask.
Alexis is known for extremely realistic celebrity impersonations.
In the post, he showed what appeared to be a silicone mask, loose teeth and special effects makeup, along with photos apparently taken inside the event.
The caption reads “Alexis Stone as Jim Carrey in Paris”.
It’s not an outright confession that he dressed up as Jim using prosthetics.
But since his entire brand is based on extreme transformations – and he’s appeared in the past disguised as other big celebrities – that’s exactly what most people assume.

Some take the post as “proof” that Jim had been replaced by a body double.
Several believe the images could be AI-generated, and that Jim’s iconic body language and demeanor would be almost impossible to copy perfectly.

The superstar himself has not commented on the allegations.
