la Folle Journée TOKYO 2025: A Classical Overture

Kicking off the festivities from May 3rd to may 5th is the “La Folle Journée TOKYO 2025” music festival. While the main event unfolds at the Tokyo International Forum, Tokyo Station will host a series of intimate concerts. The opening day, May 3rd, features a special performance by Kitamura Asuto, the celebrated Grand Prix winner of the 46th Pitina Piano Competition in 2022. this exclusive concert is a highlight, promising an unforgettable experience for attendees.

From May 6th to May 11th, the spotlight shifts to the “Tokyo Station Piano” event, inviting the public to engage with music firsthand. This year features the debut of a KAWAI “Crystal Piano” at Tokyo Station. Since its introduction in 1971, the Crystal Piano has been celebrated for its aesthetic appeal and extraordinary musicality, captivating audiences worldwide. Its transparent design allows viewers to witness the intricate mechanics of the instrument, blending visual art with auditory pleasure.

The KAWAI Crystal Piano is truly worthy of being called a single art.

Street pianos have become increasingly popular in urban spaces,fostering community engagement and spontaneous musical expression.
