President Lee Jae -myung, who completed a keynote speech at the 80th UN General Assembly, met with UN Secretary -General Anthony Gutechs in New York on the 23rd (local time) and held a serial meeting with the Czech Republic and Uzbekistan.
In a meeting with Secretary -General Gutechs, Lee asked for the active interest and support of the United Nations, saying, “The peace and security of the Korean peninsula is directly related to the peace and security of the international community.” In addition, “the UN role is more important than ever in the face of deepening conflicts and conflicts in the international community,” he said. Gutechs said that South Korea is making a balanced voice in the United Nations, and is a partner that Korea is trusted in major issues such as Indian support, sustainable development targets (SDGs), human rights, gaza and Ukraine.
At the first summit with President Czech Republic, President Lee, Lee highly appreciated the achievements of the two countries on the 35th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Korea and the Czech Republic and the 10th anniversary of strategic partners. He said he expects to expand cooperation to semiconductor, electric vehicles, and defense sectors based on nuclear cooperation, and President Pavel mentioned the excellence of Korean companies and also told his intention to visit in the future.
Lee also agreed to upgrade the relationship between the shabu -kat Mirage and Uzbekistan with the first summit and to upgrade the bilateral relations to ‘special strategic partnerships’. He said, “If Korea, which has a rich resource and population, cooperates with Korea with technology, it will produce great synergy,” he said. In addition, he emphasized the role of the bridge between the Korean society and asked for special attention, and the two leaders decided to work closely to hold the success of the Korea-Central Army Summit next year.
President Lee will preside over the high -level disclosure of the UN Security Council on the 24th (local time) and will lead a discussion on the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on international peace and security.
