This facility, supported by donations from an American heiress, is where the UCLA Bruins usually play. Now, it’s hosting Inter Milan as they prepare for the Club World Championship following their defeat. The frist training session in California began with players entering, greeted by fans, and then listening to new coach, Cristian Chivu.

New Coach focuses on Vertical Play

After introductory sessions, Cristian Chivu is getting serious. His closest collaborators are with him, awaiting deputy Aleksandar Kolarov. Angelo Palombo, previously with him in Parma, and Mario Cecchi are also part of the staff. On a field unlike their home ground, Chivu began with physical work and combination exercises, emphasizing “Look forward, always forward.” This indicates a focus on a vertical style of play for the team.

Reinforcements Expected Soon

Goalkeepers Sommer, Martinez, Di Gennaro, and baby Calligaris are working with Gianluca Spinelli and Paolo Orlandoni. Acerbi, Darmian, Palacios, Mkhitharyan, Valentin Carboni, and Petar Sucic are also present. Expectations are high for Sucic. Cocchi, King Cecconi, Berenbruck, and De Pieri, along with the Esposito brothers, are participating. Bisseck and Calhanoglu are working separately, with Calhanoglu potentially missing the first game against Monterrey.
