Strong winds and rain will continue to affect the country in the coming days due to cold thrust #17, a phenomenon that has generated unstable conditions this Wednesday, with low temperatures in different regions of the national territory.
According to the National Meteorological Institute (IMN), after the passage of the cold push through the Caribbean Sea, the trade winds once again establish themselves in the basin, causing moisture to be carried towards the region.
In Costa Rica, this situation causes windy conditions and mostly cloudy skies in the Caribbean and the North Zone, where occasional rains occur. These precipitations are also recorded in mountainous sectors of the Central Valley. In contrast, clear skies and stable conditions predominate on the Pacific coast.
The rains will persist in the Northern Zone and the Caribbean for a few more days, while the winds will continue to affect the mountainous areas, conditions that will remain in much of the national territory.
“Over the course of this Wednesday, the influence of cold thrust #17 on the country will decrease as it enters the Atlantic Ocean, moving away from Central America.
“With respect to temperatures, they will remain cool during the early hours of the morning in the center of the country, as well as in the mountainous sectors throughout the day,” indicated the IMN.
