Jakarta – The past drama apparently isn’t really over for Tom Cruise. The Top Gun actor talked about his ex-wife Nicole Kidman‘s divorce from Keith Urban.
In the past, when Tom Cruise and Nicole divorced (1990-2001), Tom felt that he was the party most blamed by the public.
“He was considered a bad person and that stuck with him for years,” a source told the International Business Times, quoted from The News, Tuesday (25/11/2025).
The source also said that Tom Cruise was quite hurt by the way Nicole Kidman presented the narrative of their separation in the media.
“Nicole went on TV, made insinuations about her height, and presented herself as the victim. Meanwhile Tom just stood by and took all the blows,” said the insider.
Now that Nicole Kidman’s marriage to country singer Keith Urban has ended, Tom is said to be feeling a little complacent.
“He was annoyed when Keith was portrayed as a hero on a white horse who saved Nicole from the bad memories of their marriage,” said another source.
But despite the feeling of being ‘proved right’, Tom Cruise still shows a little empathy.
“He knew Nicole must be sad, but at the same time, he also gave himself a small pat on the shoulder while telling those closest to him that this was karma at work,” said the source.
According to Tom Cruise’s closest people, he has been convinced for a long time that Nicole and Keith’s relationship was only exaggerated.
“Tom felt they were an overly hyped couple, even though from the start it was clear they had very little in common, and now he’s been proven right,” said the source again.
Meanwhile, Keith Urban only appeared on social media again two months after news of their separation broke.
