5 Vampire Films to Terrify You | Dracula, Blade & More

by Archynetys Entertainment Desk

HALLOWEEN — Vampires fascinate as much as they frighten. Long before haunting the screens, they traveled through the tales of Eastern European villages in the 17th century, nourishing superstitions and stories by the fire, to explain mysterious deaths, sudden illnesses or strangely silent nights.

Half-human, half-demon, over time, the vampire has changed his face. From gothic literature to our TV evenings, he went from terrifying monster to seductive hero. And frankly, let’s face it: there’s something fascinating about watching these immortals play with life and death, without ever aging. For Halloween, we put aside the pumpkins and ghosts to dive into their world.

Between thrill and fascination, HuffPost has chosen five must-see vampire films, perfect for a movie night. The complete selection can be found in the video at the top of this article. Stories of blood, desire and immortality, which will make you dream as much as give you cold sweats.

Sinners (2025)

Spoiler: this film will give you goosebumps. Twin brothers return to their hometown, Mississippi, to open a club. Elijah and Smoke, charismatic and elegant, carry a heavy past: former henchmen of Al Capone, they have not completely lost their bad habits, brutal to say the least.

Under its fantastic film appearance, Sinners is above all a metaphor for the segregationist America of the 1930s, where the Ku Klux Klan gained ground despite its ban.
A hard-hitting blend of horror, action and a powerful soundtrack, deeply rooted in African-American culture. This film directed by Ryan Coogler is one of the biggest box office successes in 2025. Michael B. Jordan delivers an impressive performance in a dual role. Available for rental on Canal VOD, Prime Video, Apple TV and YouTube.

Dracula (1992)

Count Dracula, a vampire in spite of himself, crosses the centuries to find the face of his wife who died two hundred years earlier. When he meets Mina, Jonathan Harker’s young fiancée, he recognizes in her his lost love. Ready for anything, he makes it his mission to seduce her. Gary Oldman plays a Dracula who is both monstrous and romantic. In front of Francis Ford Coppola‘s camera, Winona Ryder and Keanu Reeves accompany him in this gothic and haunting film, released in 1992. Available on Netflix, Canal VOD, Youtube and Prime Video.

Interview with the Vampire (1994)

For one night, Daniel, a young journalist, collects the fascinating testimony of Louis, a vampire in search of redemption. In 1791, broken by the death of his family, he crossed paths with Lestat, who made him a vampire. He then discovers a world of violence and luxury.

Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise play two vampires with opposing visions of eternity: one wants to redeem himself, the other tastes all the excesses that immortality can offer. Kirsten Dunst and Antonio Banderas also star. This Neil Jordan classic can be seen on Amazon Prime, YouTube, and Apple TV.

One Night in Hell (1996)

Two robbers take a family hostage before taking refuge in a Mexican bar. This turns out to be a lair of hungry vampires. To survive this night which promises to be bloody, they will have to team up, despite their differences.

Robert Rodriguez mixes the genres of horror and comedy. George Clooney, Quentin Tarantino and Salma Hayek deliver an explosive performance in this cocktail of dark humor, action and pure madness released in 1996. Available on Canal +, Youtube and Amazon Prime.

Blade (1998)

Half-man, half-vampire, Blade, hero from Marvel comics, has sworn to eliminate those whose blood he shares. In this 1998 film, which takes place in a contemporary universe, he faces vampires who terrorize the city armed with his katana and dressed in black.

Wesley Snipes and Stephen Dorff star in this cult film, featuring an iconic soundtrack. Stephen Norrington’s film is available to rent on Filmo and Prime Video.
