The film Franz by Polish director Agnieszka Holland won the most Czech Lion awards. The best film was the film Caravan directed by Zuzana Kirchner, which is a sensitive road movie through the hot south of Italy and an example of life with autism and Down syndrome.
The presenter of this year’s 33rd Czech Film and Television Academy’s Český lev awards ceremony, Bianca Cristovao, talks to a futuristic artificial intelligence at the beginning of the live broadcast from the Prague Congress Center and asks her when was the last time films were made without AI. The last film year 2025 is supposed to be the last such fair ride.
Cristovao then lists Czech films that were successful at prestigious foreign film festivals. The winning Caravan was screened at the festival in Cannes, Bára Anna Stejskalová with the film 9 million colors was presented in Annecy, Pepa Lubojacki was successful at the Berlinale (only this year) and currently the Czech-Danish film Mr. Nobody against Putin has a chance in Hollywood at the Oscars.
