The president of the Junta de Castilla y León, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, and the mayor of Monfarracinos, Manuel Martín, have signed today a protocol for the expansion of the ‘Zamora Norte’ industrial estate with 48 more contiguous hectares, in such a way that this enclave will have a total area of more than 140 hectares, with 80% destined for industrial use.
Fernández Mañueco has stressed that this expansion before the launch of the industrial estate constitutes a new commitment by the Government of Castilla y León to the industrial development of the area, by providing this enclave with more hectares of quality land to attract new business projects and promote the creation of stable and quality employment. For this, The regional Executive will allocate close to 7 million euros to the new sector, thus raising the total investment in the polygon to more than 18 million.
This expansion responds to the growing dynamism that ‘Zamora Norte’ is experiencing since the approval last year of the Regional Territorial Plan for its development, an instrument that allowed this green and sustainable industrial estate to be launched in Monfarracinos with an initial area of 90 hectares. The urbanization works are progressing at a good pace and More than 80% of the net industrial area is already reserveda sample of the interest that this enclave is generating.
Since then, several companies linked to renewable energies and data processing centers have confirmed their implementation, with projects that exceed 3,000 million investment and they expect to generate more than 300 jobs. Representatives of some of these companies, such as Ignis, Edison Next or Reolum, were present at the signing of the protocol to give their support to the project. Fernández Mañueco has highlighted that this business commitment reflects the attractiveness of Zamora and the whole of Castilla y León to attract modern business initiatives, within sectors with a future, and generate quality employment.
The president of the Board has explained that the ‘Zamora Norte’ industrial estate constitutes a strategic location and is equipped with cutting-edge services, cutting-edge technologies, direct access to clean and affordable renewable energy and reclaimed land at a low price, characteristics that make it an ideal environment for the development of new business initiatives.
This project is an example of the ambitious industrial land policy developed by the Government of Castilla y León to offer quality and competitive spaces so that companies can establish themselves and generate employment. The Board is currently promoting industrial enclaves in all provinces, which total a total area of 1,400 hectareswith quality and accessible land to make it available to companies and investors, in addition to other measures such as support for innovation or internationalization.
Finally, Fernández Mañueco has pointed out that the regional Executive supports all companies that want to grow, invest or establish themselves in Castilla y León, and has recalled that the planned projects require that the new energy planning of the Government of Spain guarantee that supply, essential to promote industrial development and employment in the Community.
