The facts occurred around 4:30 am on the night of Saturday to Sunday, communicates on Monday evening the Vaud cantonal police. That morning, the power plant was informed that individuals were trying to rob a armory located in Yverdon-les-Bains. On the spot, patrols of the North Vaudois police (PNV) found that a pick-up had struck the window of armory in reverse and that two men who were on the deck of the vehicle tried to enter the establishment. At the sight of the police, the two individuals returned to the cabin, in which was the third person, and fled.

Hunted by police patrols, the fugitives refused to comply and circulated in town at high speed by taking many risks. Arrived at the end of a street with a retractable terminal, the suspects turned back and ended up facing a patrol car that had been placed in the way to block them.

The driver of the pick-up then bypassed the police vehicle and came close to the agent of the PNV before being immobilized briefly. The three occupants of the pick-up were then arrested without opposing resistance. These are three French nationals of 19, 18 and 17 years old.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Miners’ Tribunal were notified. The service magistrates have opened a criminal instruction in order to establish the precise circumstances of the events. No one was injured during this event and no weapon was swept away.

This event required the commitment of several North Vaud police patrols, the gendarmerie, including the canine brigade and the scientific police brigade.
