  • Subscribers able to add on NFL Sunday Ticket and RedZone programme

Google’s US pay-TV platform YouTube TV will launch a sports-focused subscription package next year after ironing out its carriage deals ahead of 2026.

The YouTube TV Sports Plan will give subscribers access to the major US broadcast networks, which include ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox, as well as channels like FS1, NBC Sports Network (NBCSN) and all ESPN networks, including ESPN’s direct-to-consumer (DTC) service.

In addition, viewers will be able to add the National Football League’s (NFL) Sunday Ticket out-of-market package and RedZone whiparound show to the bundle, while keeping features like unlimited DVR, multiview, key plays and fantasy view.

Sport will be among more than ten genre-specific bundles, which are designed to provide greater choice and flexibility for subscribers. All will be available at a cheaper price than the base rate for a YouTube TV subscription, which currently costs US$82.99 per month.

YouTube TVwhich has around ten million subscribers, joins the likes of Comcast, DirecTV and Fubo in offering a sport-specific bundle. The plans come a month after it struck a new carriage deal with Disney that resolved a two-week blackout of programming from networks like ESPN and ABC.

The new multi-year agreement ensures YouTube TV can continue to offer the entirety of Disney’s linear portfolio, as well as the ‘Unlimited’ plan for the ESPN DTC service, which can be accessed at no additional cost.

The renewed carriage deal with Disney also came a month after YouTube TV reached a similar agreement with NBCUniversal for its channels. Indeed, the platform was the first provider to carry the NBCSN channel, which simulcasts Premier Leaguecollege football and National Basketball Association (NBA) games streamed on Peacock, when it was relaunched in October.

YouTube has offered no further details on what price will be attached to its sports-specific bundle.
