Suara.com – A number of people held a demonstration in front of the Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY) Regional Police Headquarters (Polda) on Tuesday (24/2/2026) evening.

Based on Suara.com’s monitoring in the field, the crowd who arrived went straight to the east gate of the DIY Regional Police Headquarters. The water barrier that was originally put up by the police was immediately dismantled.

The crowd that continued to arrive immediately approached the east gate and carried out pushing actions against the security barricades.

At its peak, at 18.43 WIB, the gate on the east side of the Yogyakarta Regional Police had successfully collapsed due to the increasingly solid pressure of the masses.

A number of people were also seen scribbling on the outer walls of the DIY Regional Police Headquarters.

Writings such as ‘All Cops Are Bastards’ to ‘Murderers’ have decorated the walls.

This action has a significant impact on traffic flow on the North Ring Road. The crowd that overflowed onto the main road diverted the flow independently.
