Yemen Houthis Attack Israel: Middle East Conflict Escalates

by Archynetys World Desk

The Houthi insurgency Yemen announced this Saturday his joining the Iran war with the launch of its first missile against Israeli territory since the beginning of the conflict a month ago.

The Yemeni forces, traditional allies of Tehran, have finally confirmed this Saturday morning what the Israeli Army advanced at dawn: the beginning of an operation “in support of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the resistance fronts in Lebanon, Iraq and Palestine, and in view of the continued military escalation, attacks on infrastructure and the perpetration of crimes and massacres against our brothers.”

Thus, the Yemeni forces have ended up announcing “the first military operation with a ballistic missile bombardment directed against sensitive military targets of the Israeli enemy in the south of occupied Palestine.

The Israeli Army has limited itself to confirm the interception of at least one missile in the south of the country, whose appearance in the airspace triggered alarm in Beersheba.

“This operation,” the Houthis add, “coincided with the heroic operations carried out by the mujahideen brothers in Iran and Hezbollah in Lebanon, and the operation successfully achieved its goals thank God Almighty.”

The strategic position of the Houthis

The insurgents, in control of Yemen’s capital, Sana’a, and large regions of the country for a decade, occupy a strategically important position in this conflict, by having projectiles and drones capable of reaching southern Israel through the Red Sea or over Saudi Arabia or Jordan, whose defenses are currently dedicated to shooting down Iranian projectiles.

“Our operations, with the help of Almighty God, will continue until the objectives are achieved declared and until the aggression ceases on all resistance fronts,” the Houthis conclude.

The Yemeni insurgency is no stranger to direct conflict against Israel. During the Gaza war, the Houthis mounted a double attack campaignfirst against Israeli territory and then against navigation in the Red Sea as a gesture of solidarity with the Palestinian cause.

Between March and May 2025, the US began a month of bombing against Yemeni territory until the signing of a precarious ceasefire agreement with Omani mediation.

This past Thursday, the leader of the Houthis, Abdul Malik al Huti, advanced the group’s intentions. “In the slightest event that requires a military response, We will intervene without hesitation, as we have done before,” he said in statements reported by the Saba news agency, controlled by the Yemeni rebels themselves.

In this sense, he assured that “Yemen will not hesitate “I declare that we will not hesitate and will fulfill our Islamic duty of jihad, following the path of God.”

“Should a military response be necessary we will fully comply“, he added before emphasizing that the position of the insurgents is “clear and explicit, without harboring bad intentions.” Thus, he ended by calling on “all countries of the Islamic world to unite and put an end to Zionist aggression and the American tyranny that threatens the entire region.”
