The French Blood Establishment (EFS) invites people who can donate blood to get involved and is always looking for new donors. A downward trend in collection attendance is evident, the case for the collection on Tuesday, November 4 organized at the La Cantarello village hall: 53 people were sampled, including one new donor, while last August 63 samples were taken including 10 new donors. Last year at the same time the results were essentially the same with one more person this year. The donors were welcomed by caring volunteers and medical staff without counting on the quality of the snacks: apple pies, “homemade” marshmallows prepared by Bruno Justamond, active member of the Roquemaure blood donors’ association.
As a reminder: for every blood donation, three lives are saved. You can become a donor if you are over 18 years old. Donation is possible up to six times a year for a man and four times a year for a woman.
