The World Cup finals will return to Basel in 2028. The city on the Rhine once again prevailed in the award.
The World Cup finals in Basel last spring thrilled the participants as well as the audience in the metropolis on the Rhine, which this year also hosted games in the European Women’s Football Championship and the Eurovision Song Contest and was thus in the spotlight almost permanently.
The FEI has now decided that Basel will be allowed to host the World Cup finals in dressage, vaulting and show jumping again in 2028. The exact date is April 5th to 9th. Switzerland can then look forward to a major sporting event of international importance.
“It fills us with great pride to be able to host this important sporting event again on the beautiful bend of the Rhine after such a short time. We thank the world association and our national association for the trust they have placed in us. We are highly motivated to set standards again in 2028 and to organize a world-class tournament,” emphasized Thomas Straumann, President of the Organizing Committee and Chairman of the CHI Classics Basel.
