Switzerland against Malta in Lugano

On the way to the 2027 World Cup, the women’s national team will play its third qualifying game against Malta on Friday, June 5th in Lugano. Coach Rafel Navarro’s team will have the honor of opening the newly built arena. For the first time since February 2006 (1-1 against Denmark), the national team will play a game in Ticino again. “The new AIL Arena offers a modern setting for this return and is emblematic of the further development of the infrastructure in Swiss football,” said the SFV in the statement. The national team will play the first two qualifying games against Northern Ireland (Lausanne) and Turkey (Zurich).
