A death deemed suspicious has plunged the Lobat Fall city of Pikine into turmoil. A divorced woman, aged 58, lost her life after a fall on the night of December 29, 2025 from a R+2 building, following a dispute with her partner. The latter was arrested and placed in police custody for the purposes of the investigation, according to information reported by Seneweb.
The events took place on December 29, 2025, around 6 a.m. CS, occupying the ground floor of a villa located in the Lobat Fall housing estate, went to the Pikine district police station to report the presence of a seriously injured woman in front of her front door. Dispatched to the scene, the police discovered the victim lying on the ground inside the house, presenting several apparent injuries and bathing in a pool of blood. Conscious at the time of the intervention, she was however unable to comment on the origin of her injuries.
During the findings, investigators noted several material items, including a damaged cell phone and a pack of cigarettes found near the victim. Fragments of slates from the canopy of the portal were also observed, suggesting a fall from the upper floors of the building.
Testimonies collected on site indicate that the occupants of the building were alerted by the victim’s cries of pain. CS and OW, both residents on the ground floor, as well as I. Seck, occupant of the second floor, said they heard calls for help shortly before the emergency services intervened.
Heard by investigators, I. Seck claimed to have a relationship with the victim, identified as MY Fall. He indicated that the latter had gone to his apartment earlier in the evening, without staying there long, and denied any involvement in the facts. According to sources close to the matter, however, there was a dispute between the couple before the fall.
Emergency alerted, firefighters evacuated the victim to the General Idrissa Pouye hospital in Grand Yoff, where she was admitted for observation. On Thursday January 1, 2026, the management of the hospital informed the Pikine district police station of the death of the patient. The public prosecutor at the Pikine-Guédiawaye high court, Saliou Dicko, was contacted.
As part of the procedure, the deceased’s companion was arrested and placed in police custody. Investigators are awaiting the results of the autopsy to determine precisely the circumstances of the death.
