2026 begins on Thursday and several communes in the region will have shows to celebrate the New Year. As is tradition, Valparaíso and Viña del Mar will launch fireworks. San Antonio will present a “low-impact” fireworks show. El Quisco will have a drone show and Concón, a light show at the municipal stadium.
- Valparaiso: The 18-minute show will be broadcast by Chilevisión starting at 10:00 p.m. and will have nine launch points: seven at sea (Espigón, Coco Loco, Estación Francia, Muelle Barón, Placeres, Santa María and Portales) and two on land (Molo de Abrigo and Piedra Feliz). The municipality organized two days of celebration in Plaza Sotomayor, and in Plaza Aníbal Pinto there will be a light show, there will be volumetric letters and a “Wall of wishes.”
To avoid accidents, On the 31st the municipality will close the following walkways on Avenida España: that of the Liceo Industrial near Caleta Portales, that of the UTFSM, that of the connecting walkway between Avenida España and Paseo Wheelwright, and that of Yolanda and Diego Portales with Amalia Paz. And also access to the viewpoints Portales, Bella Mar, Barón, Dimalow, 2nd street in Cerro Alegre, Almirante Riveros and the Pérgola del Mirador 21 Mayo.
- Vina del Mar: The show will last approximately 20 minutes. The fireworks will be launched from six maritime points: Recreo, Caleta Abarca, Avenida Perú, Muelle Vergara and Playa Los Marineros, Las Salinas and Reñaca. “The elements will configure diverse and innovative lighting effects of designs and colors with more than 300 combinations that, according to the company, have not been used in Chile before”reported the municipality.
“It will be used low noise impact pyrotechnics -to protect people, the environment and pets-, and considers environmentally friendly elements, which does not use plastic in the products, since they are entirely biodegradable cardboard. Noise bombs have also been eliminated and the decibels of conventional elements have been lowered.he added.
- Concon: Starting at 10:00 p.m., a free New Year’s party will be held at the municipal athletic stadium, where there will be a food court, two bands, a DJ, and a light show.
- Saint Anthony: will light up the bay again “with a colorful, low-impact pyrotechnic show, thus resuming a tradition long awaited by the community after seven years of absence”reported the municipality. The show – partly financed by private companies – will last 15 minutes and is “designed with special guards so that children and people with hearing sensitivity can enjoy it safely.”
- The Quisco: There will be a drone show and party with DJ on Los Corsarios beach starting at 8:00 p.m.
