Following United States’ late-night strikes on three Iranian nuclear sites, Vice President JD Vance asserted Sunday that the U.S.is at odds with “Iran’s nuclear program,” not with Iran itself.

The facilities targeted in the Trump administration‘s strikes were at Ford, nathanz and Isfahan, according to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, who stated that Iran’s “nuclear ambitions have been obliterated.”

In response to the U.S. attacks, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi declared Sunday that Iran reserves all options to defend itself, sparking worries about a possible major escalation in the region.

When questioned by NBC News’ Kristen Welker regarding the U.S. response to potential Iranian retaliation,vance stated,”We do not want war with Iran,we actually want peace,but we want peace in the context of them not having a nuclear weapons program,and that’s exactly what the president accomplished last night.”

While White House officials,including Trump, have lauded the success of the mission, the full extent of the damage inflicted on the nuclear facilities remained unclear as of Sunday.
