US Aid to Cuba: Latest News | NRK

While cutting off fuel supplies to Cuba, the United States will provide an additional $6 million in humanitarian aid to the country.

This was stated by a leading aid official in the US State Department on Thursday.

The increase comes as Washington has stepped up efforts to block oil supplies to the Caribbean island nation, which has led to severe fuel shortages.

Aid official Jeremy Lewin said at a press conference that the new allocation means that the United States has given a total of 9 million dollars in support to the Cuban people since Hurricane Melissa hit in October.
