The film “The Murder Club of Thursday” available on Netflix sees the main interpreter of one of the most popular science fiction series appear.
This is called a surprise, and even a good surprise! On August 28, Netflix unveiled its new detective film entitled Le Murder Club on Thursday. This feature film notably brings together Helen Mirren, Ben Kingsley and Pierce Brosnan in the skin of retirees investigating on unresolved criminal affairs.
A bad role as he knows how to do them so well
Besides this prestigious trio, the film sees another well -known face appearing, that of David Tennant. A real surprise therefore, since the main interpreter of the SF Doctor Who series (seasons 2 to 4) was not highlighted in the promotional material of the film. His presence in the credits of the Murder Club also gives us the opportunity to find him in the shoes of a villain, a type of role in which he excels.
The Scottish actor lends his features to Ian Ventham, a crooked real estate agent. The latter only awaits the death of his partner to be able to shave the Coopers Chase retirement home to build luxurious apartments. The sudden death of said partner therefore made him the ideal suspect in the eyes of the members of the Murder Club …
Spielberg 2 / Tennant 0
On the set of the Matinale This Morning program, David Tennant told with great humor the express visit of Steven Spielberg (which produces the film) on the set. The Scottish actor was only able to interfere with the filmmaker, not daring to interrupt him to greet him. Professional commitments then prevented him from attending the film’s premiere, therefore bringing the number of his missed appointments with the American director!
David Tennant was revealed to the general public in 2005 by lending his features to the evil Barty Croupton Jr. in Harry Potter and the Fire Cup. But it was his role as Doctor Who who made him known the general public the most; Bringing humanity and candor to the doctor, it is generally cited by fans as the best of the character’s performers.
The film Le Murder Club of Thursday can now be found exclusively on Netflix.
