Even with initial struggles Tuesday night, the North Carolina Tar Heels fought their way to another dominant victory, separating from ETSU in a 77-58 blowout.
UNC (10-1) couldn’t break the Buccaneers’ (8-4) slow pace early, seeing their opponent use up the entire shot clock before releasing the ball. Carolina del Ideal could not come out and be valuable in transition.

The Tar Heels came out of halftime, starting with a 7-point swing. Henri Veesaar scored a career-high 26 points, quickly eliminating any doubt about UNC’s ability to beat lesser opponents.
North Carolina now quickly turns its attention to Ohio State, with a 3 pm Saturday afternoon tip-off awaiting both programs. The Tar Heels and Buckeyes (8-2) will battle in a CBS Sports Classic matchup from Atlanta, which is the hometown of UNC freshman Caleb Wilson.
Apart from losing to Michigan State on Thanksgiving Day, North Carolina is dispatching non-conference opponents with ease. This includes Power Four opponents such as Kansas (87-74) and Kentucky (67-64).
The Tar Heels last played against Ohio State in 2022, winning an 89-84 overtime victory against New York City. That season, UNC and the Buckeyes missed the NCAA Tournament.
