The Ulsan City Waterworks Business Headquarters reported that the results of the Ulsan tap water quality test conducted in October of last year were in line with Korea’s drinking water quality standards.
The subject of inspection is purified water supplied from Hoeya and Cheonsang water purification plants, and a total of 60 inspection items are included.
Looking at the detailed test results, △ four items of microorganisms, including general bacteria, total coliforms, and E. coli, and △ 12 items of inorganic substances with harmful effects, such as ammonia nitrogen, nitrate nitrogen, fluorine, and heavy metals, were all ‘undetectable or below the standard’.
In addition, 17 items of organic substances with harmful effects on health, such as phenol, benzene, and carbon tetrachloride, were measured as ‘not detected’, and △11 items of disinfectant and disinfection by-products such as residual chlorine, total trihalomethane, and chloroform were also measured as ‘not detected or below the standard.’
In addition, 16 items including hardness, odor, taste, color, and turbidity, which are substances with an aesthetic impact, were also investigated as ‘not detected, suitable, or below the standard’.
In addition, the water quality test results for a total of 114 household faucets and old pipe faucets, which were selected based on the water supply population for each district, were found to meet the water quality standards.
An official from the Waterworks Business Division said, “We will do our best to ensure that citizens can drink with confidence by thoroughly managing the tap water supplied from the water purification plant to each home and conducting regular water quality tests.”
Detailed water quality test results can be found on the Ulsan Waterworks Headquarters website.
