Tuesday, December 23, the Ufolep departmental cup pools were drawn. Team 1 from Sévérac landed in pool 5, a pool of three teams with two big teams: Vallon I who is the defending champion and leader of pool AB2 as well as La Primaube who is leader of pool C and who will have a five-point lead in each set given the difference in championship level.
A call to amateurs to strengthen the squad
Suffice to say that the draw was not very kind to the local volleyball players who will have a good challenge to take up. At the end of the group matches all teams will be ranked among themselves and the best eight will qualify for the final table.
The Sévérac II team as well as the women’s team will not participate in the cup this season due to staffing concerns. Despite a fair number of squads, both teams are doing well in the championship and they are both second in their respective rankings. The Sévéragaise teams are hopeful of finishing the season on the podium in their group. The Château volleyball players would not mind having some reinforcements in their ranks. Those interested can join them during training on Monday evenings from 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
