Tyrol Ski Touring Rescue: Group Stuck on Steep Slope

A six-person tour group from Italy got stuck on an exposed steep slope in Gschnitz (Innsbruck-Land district) on Saturday afternoon. The winter sports enthusiasts climbed the slope despite clearly visible danger signs such as snow slabs that had already fallen off, but then broke off their tour due to the risk. The police informed us that the ski tourers were no longer able to go downhill due to the noise they heard settling in the snow.

The group made its emergency call at around 2:30 p.m. in the area of ​​the ski touring route towards the Bremer Hütte (2,413 meters). She was flown into the valley by a rescue helicopter, but no one was injured.
