Trump on Zelensky: Peace Talks Stalled – Claims & Analysis

by Archynetys World Desk

US President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday that it is Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, not Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, who is hindering the conclusion of a peace agreement.

“I think he (Putin) is ready to make a deal. I think Ukraine is less ready to make a deal,” Trump said in an exclusive interview with Reuters in the Oval Office of the White House.

He claimed that the Russian dictator was ready to end the invasion of Ukraine, while Zelensky was more reserved.

When asked why the negotiations conducted by the United States have so far not led to an end to the war, Trump answered with one word: “Zelensky.”

At the same time, the owner of the White House admitted that he could meet with the President of Ukraine during the World Economic Forum in Dasvos, which will be held from January 19 to 23.

Meanwhile, Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff and adviser Jared Kushner plan to travel to Moscow in the near future to meet with the Russian dictator.
