During a state visit to the UK, a helicopter carrying former President Donald Trump experienced a minor technical issue, leading to an unscheduled landing. The incident occurred as Trump was being transported between locations in the United Kingdom.

According to White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt, “Due to the minor hydraulic problem, the helicopter landed at the local airport. Trump transferred to the next machine and Stansted airport reached about 20 minutes later than planned,”

Leavitt added that the decision to make an emergency landing was made “of great caution” and that the president with the first lady “safely joined the substitute helicopter”.

The helicopter in question is one of the VH-3D Sea King helicopters, often referred to as Marine One when the President is on board. These helicopters are heavily modified for security and dialog purposes.

These helicopters are equipped with missile defense systems,radar jammers,and electronics designed to withstand the electromagnetic pulse of a nuclear explosion. These features are in place to ensure the safety and security of the President at all times.

For security reasons, “Marine one” often flies in a group of identical helicopters that function as bait. It is indeed usually accompanied by two or three Osprey MV-22 aircraft. These tiltrotor aircraft combine the functionality of a conventional helicopter with the long-range capabilities of a turboprop aircraft.

Osprey machines transport accompanying staff, special units and secret service agents to deal with any emergency situation in the middle of the flight.

During the state visit, Trump used a helicopter to travel between various locations, including Winfield House in central London, the official residence of the US Ambassador. The following day, President trump and his wife flew to Windsor Castle, where they met the king and the queen
