He added that “it’s not just cold, it’s extreme cold.”

Trump did not specify whether he and Putin had a telephone conversation or whether their communication took place in another form.

He also did not specify when this happened and when the “week” countdown was supposed to begin.

As you know, from Friday a new wave of severe frosts will begin in Ukraine; in the north, temperatures can reach almost -30°C, while in hundreds of houses in Kyiv it has still not been possible to restore heating after the latest blows and the situation in the energy sector as a whole remains difficult.

On Thursday, January 29, publications began to appear on Russian military social networks about an alleged order to stop shelling of Ukrainian infrastructure, which was received on January 28.

The European Commission on Thursday announced 145 million euros in emergency aid to Ukraine as Russian attacks on energy infrastructure intensify in the depths of winter.

On Sunday, February 1, a new round of negotiations on a potential peace agreement between the Russian Federation and Ukraine is expected.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said US Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner would not go there, but US participation was “likely”.
