RABAT – A german tourist’s visit to a Moroccan village took a violent turn after he allegedly harassed local women. The incident occurred in the village of Abdelghaya Souahel, located in Al Hoceima Province.

The Royal Troop of Gendarmerie responded to the scene following reports of the attack. The injured tourist was transported to the Regional Hospital Mohammed VI to receive emergency medical treatment.
Authorities have detained the tourist and are treating him as the primary suspect in relation to the initial allegations. He remains in custody under the orders of the prosecutor’s office.
Residents’ anger was realized by the amputation action of the tourist genitals on Tuesday (5/20).

Ndeshipanda Hamunyela, a spokesman for the Ministry of Environment and Tourism, condemned the incident as a serious violation of the rights to privacy, dignity, and protection of children, as well as a deep disrespect for the cultural heritage of the SAN community.
