Tolima vs O’Higgins: TV Cut & Viral Moments

by Archynetys Sports Desk

From an intense end to the scandal. The campuses of Sports Tolima and O’Higgins They caused an embarrassment in the Copa Libertadores after fight on the field once the match is over.

Let us remember that the Chilean team fell 2-0 on ‘coffee’ soil, with the final goal at 87′, thus being eliminated from the top continental tournament and will compete, to their disadvantage, in the Copa Sudamericana.

As soon as the final whistle blew, the host players celebrated euphorically. Apparently, more than one shout was taken as mockery by the Rancagüinos soccer players and thus a mess began.

Bullfights, insults, pushes and more than one hand in the air were witnessed on the field of the Manuel Murillo Toro stadium. In O’Higgins, the most furious was Miguel Brizuela, who had to be forcibly restrained by several of his own companions to avoid a bigger fight.

On the other hand, in an incomprehensible way, one of those most involved in the incident was the coach of Tolima, Lucas González Vélez, who instead of calling for calm, encouraged the fight with shouts and calls.

González also received a slap in the stomach from Federico Elduayen, a former soccer player and part of O’Higgins’ coaching staff, as seen in the images that were not broadcast on TV, but were captured by fans in the venue.

Note that, according to the Colombian newspaper El Tiempo, the scandal is already “under investigation by Conmebol, which may apply sanctions to both teams: to Tolima in the Copa Libertadores and to O’Higgins in the Copa Sudamericana.”
