The danger behind the tutorials that promise software free

In reality, these codes install malicious instructions that modify the operating system, disable security protections, and download software designed to steal information.
Once the malware is installed, it infiltrates browsers, password managers and messaging applications, to access sensitive information such as bank accounts, emails and social networks in a matter of seconds.
This data is used by cybercriminals and increases the risk of fraud, identity theft and financial loss.
Cyber Police Recommendations
To protect you, the SCC recommends:
- Do not copy or execute commands from unknown sources: Avoid copying and pasting instructions, codes or commands found on social networks as they can install malicious software that allows information theft.
- Avoid activators, pirated programs or unofficial versions– Always download apps and programs from official sites, verified stores or authorized providers.
- Always verify the source of tutorials and content: Before following any tutorial, check if the account is official, if other users recommend it, and if there are reliable references to the content.
- Keep the operating system updated and have an active antivirus: The updates fix vulnerabilities that can be exploited by malicious software.
- Do not download files from external or unknown links: Attached files may contain malware that is installed when you open them, even if they appear to be legitimate documents.
- Periodically review the activity of digital accounts: Check access from unknown locations, new devices or suspicious changes to your bank accounts, emails or social networks.
- Make periodic backups of important information: Save copies of your documents, photos and important data on external devices or in the cloud so that you can recover your information in case you lose access or your computer is infected by a cyber attack.
