Mozart et Haydn, Caravan Palace, Louise Jallu

THE MORNING LIST

This week we present to you a series of concerts, most of them in Paris and Ile-de-France, including creations of contemporary music, a Mozart and Haydn program by the Orchester national d’Ile-de-France, a mixture humor and jazz, a show dedicated to the guitar, the Caravan Palace group on tour…

Four creations by the Court-Circuit ensemble, in Paris

Founded in 1991 by Philippe Hurel (composer) and Pierre-André Valade (flautist then conductor), the Court-Circuit ensemble first filled a gap in the offering of training specialized in contemporary music: performing pieces for a small group of instruments (five to seven). He also sought to defend composers fond of micro-intervals such as the Italian Mauro Lanza.

Today, its programs are less oriented from an aesthetic point of view but just as engaged in creation. The one on February 27 has the feel of a micro-festival, a flash panorama of current trends. Four works, four world premieres. And four composers, two of whom are references of individuality and two, personalities to be discovered. By Singaporean Skylar Lim (The Flight of Angels), we know almost nothing. On the other hand, we know the Chilean Matias Fernandez Rosales (Suspended dizziness) for his time at IRCAM after playing saxophone and bass in jazz groups.

Ghostbusters: Legacy How a Successful Reboot Saved the Franchise from Ruin

A really bad sequel almost brought this franchise down. But a successful new start ensured a successful return to the screen.

The “Ghostbusters” series is one that is characterized by pleasant nostalgia for many today. The first “Ghostbusters” by director Ivan Reitman from 1985 has become a cult film. Many scenes from the original are still often quoted today, as are some lines of dialogue. The franchise ended in 1989 with the second part “Ghostbusters 2” and only came back 17 years later with the reboot of the same name in 2016. At first glance, the new film delivered a huge change: instead of the four male leads, there were now four female ghost hunters. This sparked heated discussions on the internet, but aside from this fact, the majority of viewers could agree that the 2016 version was easy not a good film is. So the future of the series seemed buried.

A new film followed in 2021 with “Ghostbusters: Legacy”. This time the focus was on children of both genders. The content of the 2016 work was completely ignored. None other than Jason Reitman was responsible for the production. As the son of Ivan Reitman,
