On The Road, I spent a year and a half of hell

Post a copy of The road (L’Olivier, 2008), the novel by Cormac McCarthy, on your desk or bedside table can produce surprising reactions: gazes that become veiled, a conversation that fades away. This postapocalyptic western, which earned its author the Pulitzer Prize for fiction in 2007, arouses confidences, as some would recount a bereavement, or a particularly painful confinement. So who had the brilliant and perverse idea of entrusting the comic book adaptation to Manu Larcenet, an author known for his hilarious and dramatic albums, many of which implicitly evoke the bipolarity with which he coexists?

The former magazine designer Fluide glacial54, survived The road. When we met him at the end of March in Paris, in the offices of his publisher, Dargaud, he admitted having nevertheless “had a year and a half of hell” to work on this album.

The novel, like an uneven path, can be taken by different paths: following this story, which features a father and a son crossing a destroyed America in rags, where people kill each other over a can of food, some Readers will sink, becoming damaged with each sordid discovery.

Rosala Makes a Statement with Transparent Blouse in Support of #freethenipple Movement

Spanish singer Rosalía surprised with a transparent blouse in support of the #freethenipple movement during an outing in Los Angeles. The artist, known for her eclectic musical style and bold fashion choices, turned heads as she wore a see-through white lace top that left little to the imagination.

Rosalía’s outfit choice aligns with the social media movement #freethenipple, which aims to challenge society’s tendency to sexualize women’s bodies. By proudly flaunting her figure in the sheer blouse, the singer joins the ranks of other celebrities like Anitta and Florence Pugh who have also shown their support for the cause.

The singer completed her daring look with black leather pants, matching platform boots, and futuristic sunglasses. Her curly hair cascaded down as she sported bold red lipstick, maintaining her signature style that sets her apart in the music industry.

While Rosalía’s outfit garnered praise from fans who lauded her confidence and style, not everyone was pleased. Some social media users criticized the singer, with some speculating that she was under the influence. However, Rosalía remained unfazed as she confidently rocked her ensemble during her night out in Los Angeles.

In other news, Rosalía recently confirmed her relationship with actor Jeremy Allen White.

Aaipop Festival Will Return Despite Controversy and Uncertainty, Organization Announces

Aaipop doesn’t stop anyway. The festival will be held again next year. The organization of the largest Frisian-language festival stated this during a press conference on Monday. It is an April Fool’s joke, with a serious undertone. “It’s a joke now, but maybe not in the future.”

“Aaipop has caused a lot of controversy in recent days,” says Jeroen Postma of the organization of Aaipop, which is held in Nijland. “We received a lot of responses, but recognition of the problems was the common thread.”

The organization announced at the beginning of this week that there was no future for the festival due to increasing regulatory pressure, rising costs and a shortage of volunteers. Postma then strongly denied that it was an April Fool’s joke.

According to Postma, there has now been good consultation with the municipality of Súdwest-Fryslân, “but there are gains to be made as far as events are concerned. We have also spoken with various provincial parties about the suffocating rules.”

Unveiling the Cosmic Puzzle: Decoding the Building Blocks of the Milky Way

Exploring the Origins of⁢ the Milky Way⁤ Galaxy

Recent research has unveiled two ancient star groupings believed to be among the earliest components of the Milky Way Galaxy. These structures, named after the Hindu deities Shakti and Shiva, were identified through observations made by the European Space Agency’s Gaia space telescope.

A study conducted by scientists suggests that Shakti and Shiva may be remnants of two galaxies that merged approximately 12 billion years ago with the nascent Milky Way, shedding new light on the galaxy’s formation process.

Comprised of stars with similar chemical compositions, Shakti and Shiva are estimated to have originated 12 to 13 billion years ago, each boasting a mass 10 million times greater than that of our sun. Lead astronomer Khyati Malhan from the Max Planck Institute for Astronomy in Germany, the study’s primary author, emphasized the significance of understanding how galaxies evolve in the universe.

The Milky Way’s Evolutionary Journey

The Milky Way, a vast spiral-shaped galaxy housing billions of stars, spans a flat circle approximately 100,000 light years in diameter. Malhan suggests that the discovery of Shakti and Shiva may represent a crucial event preceding the Milky Way’s current structure.
