Hedi Slimane in Negotiations with LVMH Group, Possible Departure from CELINE
According to a report by Business of Fashion, Hedi Slimane, the current creative director of CELINE, is in talks with LVMH Group and may potentially resign from his position.
Slimane took over as creative director of CELINE in 2018 following the departure of Phoebe Philo. During his time at the brand, Slimane has expanded CELINE into menswear, haute couture, fragrance, and cosmetics, all while infusing his signature all-black, slim-fitting aesthetic into the designs.
While there was initially a decline in sales after Slimane took the helm, consumer acceptance of Phoebe Philo’s minimalist aesthetic reinvention has seen a resurgence in the brand’s revenue. Business of Fashion reports that CELINE is projected to exceed $2.1 billion in revenue by 2023, marking a new high for the brand.
Slimane is said to be negotiating a new contract with LVMH, demanding an above-average salary, royalties on all products, and full creative control over the brand. His current contract with LVMH is set to end in early 2024, with both parties still actively in negotiations.
As of now, no official announcements have been made regarding Slimane’s potential departure from CELINE.

Larry the barfly, a regular face in the American animated series The Simpsons for 35 years, has died. The screenwriters decided to sacrifice the character.
Last Sunday, in the 765th episode Cremains the day, Larry’s swan song was put into the script. His death was completely unexpected. He suddenly dropped dead in Moe’s Tavern. The viewer then also got to see the funeral, which was attended by Homer Simpson, Lenny and Carl, among others. The characters had to realize that they knew Larry much less well than they thought for years, and that brought them into conflict with their conscience. Especially when they are mentioned in a farewell speech as his best friends, it hurts them.
‘Larry the barfly’ first appeared in the series on Christmas Day 1989, in the episode Simpsons roasting on an open fire. It was voice actor Harry Shearer who brought the cartoon character to life. He is part of the regular team of The Simpsons, because he is also the voice behind Ned Flanders,
