WSL Football has renewed its radio rights partnership with talkSPORT, extending the deal until 2028.

The agreement, announced ahead of the new Barclays Women’s Super League season, will see the station provide live commentary for 16 matches per season, alongside on-the-ground reporting from every game.

The deal also includes regular interviews with players and managers across talkSPORT’s flagship shows and dedicated feature programmes such as the Women’s Football Weekly podcast and The Kick Back.

Zarah Al-Kudcy, Chief Revenue Officer for WSL Football, said, “talkSPORT are an important network for our secondary fans; fans who find women’s football through the men’s game.

We’re pleased that they have committed to providing coverage of the Barclays Women’s Super League for a longer term of three seasons. As well as the existing shows they have for the women’s game, we are looking forward to the additional support and coverage they will be providing our clubs and players.”

British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) has renewed its exclusive agreement with commercial agency Bazballers.

The renewal follows a successful first year of the partnership, which saw brands such as Subway partner with BUCS as part of its “Fresh Moves” campaign.

The initiative will continue to support the country’s largest multi-sport Gen-Z platform, which engages students across more than 150 member institutions.

BUCS has an ambition to support one million students in the UK to be active by 2030, and the organisation sees the growth of its commercial revenue as vital to achieving this goal. Bazballers’ approach focuses on using audience insight to identify relevant sectors and shape how brands can add value to the student sport experience.

Will Roberts, CEO, BUCS, said, “Bazballers have helped BUCS deliver unparalleled growth in our commercial income and unveil a wave of new partners through an approach that truly understands our students and members.

“As we continue with our ambition, working collaboratively with our members, to support 1m students in the UK to be active by 2030, increasing our commercial revenue is vital to ensure we continue to deliver inspiring student sporting experiences that inspire, develop and unite.”

Russell James, founder, Bazballers, added, “Bazballers’ approach to unlocking opportunities for brands starts with audience insight; identifying the sectors most relevant to the Gen-Z student population and shaping the narrative for how a brand can show up and add real value to the student sport experience.”

AWSN co-founder Whoopi Goldberg made a surprise appearance at a Style Of Our Own pop-up store in London.

The hollywood actress attended an All Women’s Sports Network (AWSN) pop-up store in London. Goldberg was seen customising her own sports kit with Team Whoopi on the back while interacting with fans.

The appearance comes as discussions surrounding women’s sport continue to grow. On Saturday, London City Lionesses will wear the slogan Everyone Watches Women’s Sports on the front of their shirts for their opening Women’s Super League match against Arsenal.

Goldberg co-founded AWSN, the first global sports network dedicated entirely to women’s sports. The platform, which launched in 2024, is available in around 65 countries and features leagues such as the UEFA Women’s Nations League, WNBL, and the WTA.

The partnership sees Cash join a growing roster of athlete ambassadors for the brand, which includes Durham and England cricketer Brydon Carse and Northampton Saints and England rugby player Henry Pollock. The collaboration aims to strengthen Step One’s presence among UK sports fans and deepen its connection with elite athletes. The brand focuses on creating sustainable underwear from bamboo viscose, featuring anti-chafe panels designed to maximise comfort and performance for athletes during training and competition.

Matty Cash said, “As a defender, I’m constantly on the move – sprinting, tackling, and pushing forward – especially with the Premier League back in full swing. Comfort is crucial for my performance, and Step One has completely upped the game: no chafing on the main stage, and the support I need to recover and perform at my best every match.”
