SYRIZA: Dimitris Papanotas Out Of The European Ballot…

by drbyos

Journalist and presenter Dimitris Papanotas was excluded from the SYRIZA European ballot by a decision of Stefanos Kasselakis following the reactions caused by his statements regarding the abuse of women and gender-based violence.

“It is with regret that I am forced to exclude Dimitris Papanotas from the European ballot. I know that he issued a corrective statement, but the matter he referred to is highly sensitive and cannot be discussed. Especially for the party that has human rights and equality at its forefront”, says the president of SYRIZA-P.S.

I completely respect the decisions of the members and friends of SYRIZA who – for the first time, with my own commitment – chose our MEP candidates themselves. But there are cases when the President must intervene in order not to “load” responsibilities elsewhere by washing his hands.

— Stefanos Kasselakis (@skasselakis) April 18, 2024

A little while earlier, Sofia Bekatorou had made a statement. “I hope the party will stand as it should. To make the right move”, said the Olympic gold medalist and SYRIZA MEP candidate speaking on Parapolitik radio.

The first reaction of D. Papanotas
Journalist Dimitris Papanotas spoke of a “shallow way of thinking”.

The Crazy And Luckily Brief Story Of Sport…

One day in 2018, Cristian was watching television at home and saw that a certain César Román Viruete, who was nicknamed “the King of Cachopo” and who was supposedly missing, had been arrested for the murder of a 25-year-old woman named Heidi Paz. He did not remember the face, since Román had also characterized himself as a Venezuelan waiter to go unnoticed in Zaragoza, “but when they said his name I thought it sounded very familiar,” explains this journalist, today employed in a technology company. He looked at his phone and his WhatsApp group of college friends was boiling: “Damn, isn’t this guy…?”

Yes, it was the guy who had briefly been his boss six years earlier, at an obscure sports newspaper of which there is no trace left on the internet: Sport Gunner. “We had no contract, no signed paper, nothing I could prove that we had passed through there,” he remembers.

In the multiple profiles that have been made of Román since his arrest, his multiple deceptions have been detailed, his time in Falangist circles, his time as a hotelier in which this Madrid native self-declared his cachopo as the best in Spain with a fictitious contest and,

The call, which Moscow media described as a brazen suggestion, was made by Nico Lange, a former German defense official who is now a senior researcher at the Munich Security Conference.

Lange, in an interview with daily Newssaid NATO allies should use anti-aircraft systems to shoot down Russian missiles in Ukraine from Polish territory.

“From now on, partners should use a variety of Patriot systems on our eastern border to shoot down all the Russian missiles and drones they have within range of Ukraine,” he said, referring to the alliance’s air defense systems in eastern Poland.

“This is fully covered by international law,” continued Lange, citing the example of Israel’s ally’s assistance in repelling Iran’s attack on April 14.

Lange, who served as chief of staff of the German Defense Ministry from 2019-2022,

In Rabat, A Special Envoy Of The Libyan…

#Rabat #special #envoy #Libyan #president #responds #Algeria #AMU

It’s anything but a coincidence. Monday in Tunis, an Algeria-Tunisia-Libya tripartite summit took place. A summit supposed to become quarterly to carry out consultations between the three countries. It was enough for the Algerian press to talk about a “relaunch of the Maghreb without Morocco”.

It would still take a lot more for this to be the case. First, this desire to create a consultation framework at the summit has not been formalized. It was not the subject of a founding meeting during which there would have been a solemn declaration and a formal decision. No, it was done a bit by intrusion: taking advantage of the presence of his Libyan and Tunisian counterparts in Algiers at the beginning of March, for a meeting on gas, the Algerian president met them before later declaring that a new mechanism without Morocco was going to be established.

In Tunis, the meeting on Monday April 22 was sanctioned by a press release full of generalities on security, crime, challenges, etc. Nothing to get anyone out of their isolation.

Invited, Mauritania declined.

Libya has clearly marked its distance from Algerian ulterior motives,

Man Arrested For Drunk Driving Named Suspect In…

Exploring the Depths of an Alarming Incident: Understanding the Shooting in West Covina

We live in a society where violence seems to lurk around every corner, reminding us of the importance of safety and security. In a shocking turn of events, a Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy was shot in West Covina, sending shockwaves through the community and highlighting once again the perils that law enforcement officers face every day.

A Suspect Emerges

Authorities have identified Raymundo Duran, 47, as the main suspect in this alarming incident. Originally arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI) and weapons possession charges in San Diego County, Duran is believed to be responsible for shooting Deputy Samuel Aispuro.

“There was a lot of really good detective work, coordination and communication, and we started to connect all the dots,” Sheriff Robert Luna mentioned during a news conference.

While officers initially detained Duran based on his statements and eyewitness accounts at his DUI arrest, further investigations linked him to the shooting through surveillance footage near Barranca Street and North Garvey Avenue. Remarkably enough, Duran’s car matched descriptions provided by witnesses at West Covina.

An Individual with Disturbing Criminal History

Luna shed light on Duran’s concerning past: “A very violent criminal history” that raises serious concerns abou t public safety.
