Collin Gillespie hit the go-ahead jumper with 6.4 seconds left and the Phoenix Suns defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 114-113 thanks to a fantastic comeback in the final minute.
Minnesota seemed in control at 113-105 with 1:09 left, but Phoenix fought back to make it 113-112 with Jordan Goodwin’s layup 21 seconds before the buzzer.
Anthony Edwards — scorer of 41 points — missed two free throws with 12 seconds left, leaving the Suns with the opportunity to overtake.
Gillespie didn’t waste it: he entered the area and scored a difficult 3-meter jumper, scoring the winning basket and completing an evening of 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists.
For the Suns, Dillon Brooks scored 22 points and Mark Williams scored 19 with 8 rebounds. Among the losers there were also 20 points from Julius Randle and 12 points with 12 rebounds from Rudy Gobert.
