Since the beginning of 2025, Stutensee has no longer carried the “Family Conscious Municipality Plus” label. This was decided by a committee in May 2024. However, word has not gotten around so far. Rather, parents refer to this award, particularly in connection with childcare.
The city of Stutensee applied for and received the “Family Conscious Municipality Plus” quality award for the first time in 2015. The award was renewed in 2019 and was valid at the end of 2024.
In May 2024, the Committee on Administration and Social Affairs decided not to apply again for an extension. The administrative effort and costs of around 4,500 euros would have been disproportionate to the benefits. “At the same time, the title of ‘family-conscious municipality’ was reduced by the citizens to the area of child care in the past,” the city administration claimed in the meeting document at the time. However, the rating also includes topics such as “compatibility of family and work”, “migration, integration, intercultural openness”, “health in the community” or “nature and environmental protection”.
All of these topics have been included in the urban development plan (STEP). The specific goals of the administration would therefore result from this.
According to the information, the city of Stutensee remains committed to its line and attitude as a family-friendly and family-conscious municipality: “As a city, we want to continue to align administrative actions and decisions in a family-conscious manner and to further develop family-supporting offers and measures.”
