ISTANBUL – Meteorology officials have issued a weather alert for several provinces in Turkey, forecasting strong thunderstorms and potential hazards. The affected regions include areas west of Sivas, east of Kayseri and Tokat, and around Kastamonu, Çankırı, Çorum, and Yozgat, where severe weather is expected around midday.
Provinces Under Yellow code Warning
The General Directorate of Meteorology (MGM) has issued a “yellow code” warning for the following provinces:
- Ankara
- Çankırı
- Çorum
- Eskişehir
- kastamonu
- Konya
- KIRIKKALE
- Yozgat
Residents in these areas are advised to take precautions against potential flooding, lightning strikes, heavy rainfall, strong winds, and disruptions to transportation.

according to the General Directorate of Meteorology, the country will experiance partly cloudy to very cloudy conditions. Showers and thunderstorms are expected in the eastern Aegean region, inland Western Mediterranean areas, Eastern Mediterranean region, Central Anatolia, western Black Sea, Central and Eastern Black Sea regions, and northern and eastern parts of Eastern Anatolia.
