A Rare Glimpse: “Flow’s” Prestigious Awards Come to Valmiera
Latvia celebrates a monumental achievement in animation as the coveted awards garnered by the film Flow
go on display. The European Film Academy Award, the Golden Globe, and the Oscar, symbols of cinematic excellence, will be showcased in a special pop-up exhibition across two locations in Valmiera.
Exhibition Details: Dates, Locations, and Access
The exhibition is a collaborative effort between the Latvian National Museum of Art and the Straume
animation team. This follows the success of a similar exhibition in Balvi, which drew over 28,000 visitors, demonstrating the public’s keen interest in celebrating Latvian artistic achievements.
Valmiermuiža Brewery Showcase
The awards will first be exhibited at the Valmiermuiža brewery on April 26th and 27th, from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Notably, Valmiermuiža produces a sparkling bio quince Zelter named Flow
, adding a thematic connection to the film being celebrated.
Valmiera Museum Display
Following the brewery showcase, the exhibition moves to the Valmiera Museum, where the awards will be on display in the De Woldermer building from April 29th to May 10th, during regular museum hours. Admission is free, offering broad access to the public. Please note that the museum will be closed on May 1st, 4th, and 5th.
