We don’t want benefit cuts or further burdens, said the deputy parliamentary group leader of the SPD in the Bundestag, Schmidt, to the German Press Agency. This year, contributors are expected to contribute 65 to 70 billion euros to stabilize the system through additional contributions alone. Schmidt said they had already made a considerable amount of advance payment.
An expert commission set up by Federal Health Minister Warken, CDU, wants to present initial proposals on Monday with which the statutory health insurance funds should be financially stabilized in the face of sharply increasing expenses. A gap of at least 12 to 14 billion euros is expected for 2027.
