by Archynetys Economy Desk

Hamburg (dpa/lno) – The Hamburg car rental company Starcar GmbH Kraftfahrzeugvermietung may be facing bankruptcy following its insolvency agreement signed in October. A spokesman for the insolvency administrator Christoph Morgen said there is currently no interested party in taking over the business as a whole. Several media outlets had previously reported.

As a precautionary measure, the necessary steps have been taken to significantly restrict operations from January 2026. These preparations served to be able to complete the orderly processing of operations during the first quarter if necessary. The entire Starcar team has been informed about these possible imminent decisions.

According to the information, Starcar is one of the leading mobility service providers in Germany and operates numerous locations nationwide. The number of employees is 615 full-time employees.
